Capote – Privacy Policy

Who we are

Capote Tecnologias Ltda. (“Capote”, “we”) provides AI-powered football predictions and analysis for Brazilian competitions.

Quick summary: we create intelligent predictions, not a betting company. Your data is used to operate the product, keep it secure, fight fraud and improve the quality of our analysis.

1) Scope

This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store and protect personal data when you access our website, application or services (“Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.

3) What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide and improve Capote:

• Account data: name/nickname, email, password (encrypted), age confirmation (18+).
• Usage and device data: visited pages, clicks, session duration, app version, operating system/browser, IP address, approximate location (city/region), device IDs.
• Prediction activity: followed teams, created alerts, saved picks, prediction feedback.
• Communications: messages sent to us (support, surveys).
• Payments (when enabled): transaction IDs, billing data (processed by the payment provider; we do not see full card numbers).
• Cookies and similar technologies: analytics, preference, authentication and fraud-prevention cookies.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data. Please do not share it with us.

4) Purposes & legal bases (LGPD)

• Providing the Services (creating/managing your account, running core features).
  Legal basis: performance of contract.
• Product analysis and improvement (model accuracy, A/B tests, bug fixes).

• Security and fraud prevention (detecting abuse, bots, account misuse).

5) Minors

Capote is intended only for people aged 18 or over. We do not intentionally collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used Capote, contact privacy@capote.ai.

6) How we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

• Service providers/processors: hosting, analytics, email/SMS, customer support, payments and security.
• Business operations: legal and accounting advisers under confidentiality.
• Legal reasons: complying with the law, enforcing terms or protecting users and the platform.
• Corporate transactions: merger, acquisition or restructuring (your data remains protected; we will notify you when required).

All vendors are bound by data-processing contracts that limit use to our instructions.

7) International transfers

Your data may be processed outside Brazil. When we transfer data, we use safeguards compatible with the LGPD, such as standard contractual clauses and equivalent protections.

8) Cookies & tracking

• Essential: login/session, security, load balancing.
• Analytics: understanding usage and improving the experience.
• Preferences: language, theme, saved views.

You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect functionality.

9) Automated decisions & profiling

Capote uses machine-learning models to generate predictions and confidence scores. We do not make decisions that legally or significantly affect you exclusively through automated processing. You can request simple explanations about how a score was generated.

10) Your rights (LGPD)

You may:

• Confirm whether we process your data and access it.
• Correct incomplete or incorrect data.
• Anonymise, block or delete unnecessary data or data processed irregularly.
• Request portability to another provider where technically possible.
• Obtain information about public/private entities with whom we share data.
• Withdraw consent in cases based on consent.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest. We will assess and respond.
• Review automated decisions that affect your interests (see §9).

11) Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above, including:

• The lifecycle of the active account;
• Legal, tax, accounting and security requirements;
• Dispute resolution and fraud prevention.

When data is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymise it.

12) Security

We use layered security controls: encryption in transit, restricted access, monitoring and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure; report issues to security@capote.ai.

13) Third-party links

Our platform may contain links to third-party sites, such as bookmakers or news sites. Their privacy practices are their own — we recommend reviewing their policies.

14) Changes to this Policy

If we update this Policy, we will publish the new date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or email. Continued use means you accept the new version.
